MJDF Portfolio of Evidence: Local Assessing

The coursework portfolio of the MJDF examination is now to be assessed locally. In the Yorkshire Division we have a team of tutors who are able to carry this out.

Please ensure that you have checked that the portfolio is complete. Ensure that you have used the MJDF Portfolio Guide from The Faculty to check that each element of your portfolio contains all of the “essential evidence” and has satisfied the “questions to ask”. Portfolios that do not satisfy these areas cannot be signed off and will require further work and further expense when re-submitted.

Delegates of the 2011-12 Yorkshire Diploma Group have the opportunity to have their coursework assessed for free during the course and for one month after cessation of the course. It is intended that this arrangement will be extended for future Yorkshire Diploma Groups.

If you have not attended the above study group or are submitting more than a month after it finished, cost of assessing is £175. You are responsible for delivering the portfolio to the assessor and collecting it after assessing. If you wish the coursework to be posted back to you then we will have to charge you for postage (special delivery is the only way of guaranteeing safe return and costs £25 to £30).

The cost of re-submitting a portfolio will be at the discretion of the assessor and depends on how much work is involved.

If you wish to have coursework assessed then please e-mail the Diploma Tutor, Nick Lane at nick_a_lane@hotmail.co.uk, who will send you the address of your assessor. Then deliver your portfolio with payment (cheque payable to FGDP (UK) Yorkshire Division) and the marking sheet from the MJDF application pack to the address you are given. Enclose your e-mail address so that the assessor can inform you when your work is ready for collection.

MJDF Coursework Assessing

  1. Candidate responsible for delivering portfolio to assessor and for collecting after assessment. If candidate wants portfolio posting back to them, they must send postage paid special delivery packaging with their work.
  2. Candidates on a current Yorkshire Diploma Group course are entitled to free coursework assessing during the course and for one month after completion of the course.
  3. The fee for assessing a complete portfolio is £175. Cheques must be made payable to FGDP (UK) Yorkshire Division. This includes a £15 pound administration fee and a receipt will be sent. Elements of the portfolio (case, audit, core-skills) can be submitted individually. The cost of assessing an incomplete portfolio is £30 per item. A £15 administration fee must be added to the fee due.
  4. The fee for reassessing elements of a portfolio depends on work involved and is, therefore, at the discretion of the assessor. A £15 administration fee has to be added to the charge and the candidate is resonsible for delivering and collecting the portfolio (postage paid special delivery packaging to be provided by candidate if work to be returned by post).
  5. A written report will be given by the assessor to assist the candidate should any element of the portfolio require further work.
  6. The candidate must send the MJDF coursework assessment form to enable the assessor to sign off satisfactory portfolio elements. This will only be completed and returned if relevant payments have been received.
  7. Candidates with coursework for assessment should e-mail Nick Lane, nick_a_lane@hotmail.co.uk, with details of what needs to be assessed and their address. They will then be sent details of the assessor they have been assigned to.
